Here is the problem when you swap out heating lamps in a Sidel Matrix or SIG Blomax 4: the temperature curve loves to shift. It’s a headache. If the wattage or the light spectrum is even a little bit off, your PET preforms end up either under-heated or totally scorched. We built our replacement lamps to stop that from happening. They’re designed to be simple drop-ins that act exactly like the ones that came from the factory. The nitty-gritty on the heat We do more than just make sure the tube is the right length. We obsess over the voltage and wattage so the heat density stays identical to the original part. Why? Because if the voltage is off, you get uneven heating across the oven. We also dial in the filament thickness and gas fill so the ramp-up time fits your existing PLC settings. That means you don’t have to waste your entire afternoon messing with heating zones just because you changed a lamp. Built to actually fit We use high-purity quartz glass because it can take the hit of rapid heating and cooling without cracking. And the connectors? We use the exact same footprints—R7s, specialized SK pins, whatever you’ve got. You just wire it up. No hacking the housing, no “making it work.” Plus, the coating is specifically tuned to hit the absorption bands of PET, so the heat goes where it’s supposed to. Some real-world advice These tubes put out a lot of heat to keep your cycle times fast. But here is the thing: running them at full tilt puts a lot of pressure on your oven’s ventilation. If your cooling fans are clogged with dust or just worn out, your ambient temperature is going to spike. It doesn’t matter how precise the lamp is if the air isn’t moving. Keep those fans clean. It’s the only way to keep the thermal stability we’ve built into the glass. Do that, and your preforms will hit the blow mold at the perfect temperature every single time.
