But when your bulbs keep burning out or your heating gets patchy, it’s a nightmare. Usually, it’s just too much stress on the filament ends. We’ve seen it a thousand times.
Why bulbs actually break
Most standard IR lamps just can’t handle the grind. Between voltage spikes and heat building up at the contact points, they snap. We decided to fix that by toughening up the internals. We tweaked the filament tension and dialed in the quartz thickness so the bulbs don’t just give up during those brutal temperature swings. The best part? They’re a direct swap. You just pop them in. No rewiring the oven, no messing with controllers, and no need to change your lamp holders. It just works.
The catch (because there’s always one)
Here’s the thing: if you’re using high-wattage lamps for thick-walled preforms, you’re pushing a lot of power. That creates a ton of ambient heat inside the oven housing. Check your cooling fans. If your airflow is clogged with dust or just failing, it doesn’t matter how reinforced the bulb is. It’ll eventually “heat soak” and burn out anyway. Keep those fans clean.
Keeping things running 24/7
These bulbs are built for the 24/7 hustle. We use high-purity quartz so the heat actually goes into the plastic, rather than getting trapped in the glass. One quick tip when you’re swapping them out:look at your contact pins. If you see oxidation or a loose fit, you’re going to get an arc. And an arc will kill any bulb on the market, no matter how tough we build it. Clean the pins, seat the bulb firmly, and you’re good to go.
