No more waiting around We got tired of the lag during start-up. To kill that delay, we used a special quartz envelope and a tweaked halogen cycle. We also stripped out those thick, unnecessary coatings that usually act like a thermal blanket, slowing everything down. Now, the filament hits operating temperature almost instantly. It’s fast. One thing to watch out for Now, there is a trade-off. When you push this much energy into a preform that quickly, it puts more stress on the quartz ends. This is where you have to be diligent.Keep your reflectors clean. If dust builds up on those mirrors, the heat doesn’t go into the plastic—it bounces right back into the lamp. That’s a shortcut to a burnt-out filament. Stick to a strict cleaning schedule, and your lamps will last much longer.
